1. Home and Industrial Compostable:
Kaneka Green Planet® compounds have been shown to be home and industrially compostable under the following standards: ASTM D6400 and TUV Home Compost OK Certification. Compostability of unfinished and finished products made of Kaneka Green Planet® will ultimately depend, among other things, on shape, thickness, weight, and the presence of additives. Tests of Kaneka Green Planet® compounds and film do not necessarily predict how all end products will perform in relevant disposal environments.
2. Biodegradable:
Kaneka Green Planet® compound has been shown to be soil degradable and aerobically digestible under ASTM D6400, and anaerobically digestible under ISO 15985 standards. Degradability of unfinished and finished products made of Kaneka Green Planet® will ultimately depend, among other things, on shape, thickness, weight, and the presence of additives. Tests of Kaneka Green Planet® compounds and film do not necessarily predict how all end products will perform in relevant disposal environments. Please note: Kaneka Green Planet® compounds and products are not considered soil or landfill degradable in California.
3. Marine Biodegradable:
Kaneka Green Planet® compounds have been shown to be marine biodegradable under TUV Marine Biodegradable OK Certification. Degradability of unfinished and finished products made of Kaneka Green Planet® will ultimately depend, among other things, on shape, thickness, weight, and the presence of additives. Tests of Kaneka Green Planet® compounds and film do not necessarily predict how all end products will perform in relevant disposal environments. Please note: Kaneka Green Planet® compounds and products are not considered marine degradable in California.
4. FDA Food Contact Disclaimer
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted its acceptance of Kaneka’s PHBH™ Food Contact Substance Notification (FCS# 1835).
